This privacy policy outlines how CreditScore collects, uses, and shares personal data from or provided by you. It should be read in conjunction with our terms of service and any other relevant documents. We encourage you to carefully review this policy to understand the types of information we collect, the purposes for which we use it, the situations in which we may share it with third parties, and your rights regarding your personal data.


When visiting the CreditScore website at www.creditscore.ie (our “Website”), using our application:


“CreditScore” (our “App”) or using any of the services offered via the Website or the App (the “Services”), you will be asked to indicate your acknowledgment of, and where applicable your consent to, the practices described in this policy.


Please be aware that our website includes links to external websites that are not operated by us. These third-party websites have their own privacy policies and practices, and we have no control over or responsibility for their content or use of your personal information. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any external websites before disclosing any personal information.

When you create an account; request a demonstration; contact us; submit a request to us; engage in live chat; link your account; refer someone; provide payment information; submit a rental application; or otherwise provide information to us, we may collect personal information from you including:


- First and last name,

- Email address,

- Phone number,

- Mailing address,

- Account name and password,

- Any images you upload to your profile,

- Location information, and

- IP address.


We may also collect:


- Credit score and overall creditworthiness,

- Criminal history,

- Eviction history,

- Billing address,

- Postal address,

- Other occupants/applicants including their names and email addresses,

- Payment information,

- Date of birth,

- Employment history (e.g. current and prior employer, salary, supervisor name and contact information),

- Salary/income history,

- Emergency contact information,

- Agent information,

- Residence history (e.g. current and prior addresses, rent amount, landlord name and contact information, move-in and move-out dates),

- Reference(s)’ contact information,

- Your application status (e.g., if your application has been accepted, denied, or is in progress)

- Driver’s license and/or identification card information, and

- Files uploaded to your account.


We may also ask for your help in referring others to the Service. If you choose to refer someone, we may ask for their first and last name, email address, and phone number. We will use this information solely for the purpose of fulfilling your referral request, including (if applicable) sending them a text message to encourage them to use the Service. We will not use their contact information for any other marketing purposes unless they have separately agreed to receive such communications from us.


In addition to the information we request from you, you may choose to provide us with additional information on a voluntary basis through the Service. Please be aware that you are solely responsible for any information you choose to submit in this manner. We encourage you to be cautious when sharing information through the Service, especially sensitive or personal information or anything that may violate our Terms of Use, such as discriminatory or illegal content. When using the "Notes" feature or communicating with us through email, chat, or message forms, please make sure to adhere to these guidelines.


Information we automatically collect


We collect information about your use of the Service, including your preferences and other tendencies, through aggregated or de-identified traffic data and tracking information provided by our website host or analytics provider. This data does not personally identify you, but it may be helpful for marketing purposes or for improving the services we offer. We may also collect information about which pages you visit, how long you stay on a particular page, emails and advertisements you view, products and services you view, your referring and existing pages, and your location (using imprecise location data such as IP address or city/postal code level, or precise location data such as latitude/longitude). This information helps us tailor the Service to you, such as by helping you find agents nearby. It may also provide information about the browser, network, or device you use to visit our site.

We may also collect device identifiers to help us understand how you use our site and diagnose any issues with our server. - Property management companies, agents, landlords, and tenant management service companies


Information from our Clients


We offer a range of products and services to our clients, such as credit providers and financial institutions. In the course of providing these services, we may collect and process information about individuals through various means, including tracking technologies and automated systems. This information, referred to as "client data," may include contact information, demographic data, content, employment and education history, location data, and other relevant details that are provided to us by our clients. Our clients may also upload files containing this information to our platform for processing and use in accordance with this Privacy Policy.


Our processing of client data is governed by the terms of our service agreements with our clients, and not this Privacy Policy. In the event we are permitted to process client data for our own purposes, we will process the client data in accordance with the practices described in this Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for how our clients treat the information we collect on their behalf, and we recommend you review their own privacy policies. Third-Party Privacy Policies


Through the Service, you may be able to link to or otherwise utilise technology, software and services owned and controlled by third parties (“Third-Party Services”). You may be permitted or required to submit personal information to access Third-Party Services. For example, we may allow you to sync your calendar with the Service in order to automatically update it with new meetings. Such use of Third-Party Services and submission of information through Third-Party Services will be subject to such applicable third party’s terms of use, terms of service, privacy policy and/or practices. You agree to look solely to the applicable third party and not to CreditScore to enforce your rights in relation this. When you have clicked on a third-party logo or URL displayed or accessible through the Service which links you to any Third-Party Services, our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use no longer apply, and you must read the terms of use, terms of service, and privacy policy of the third party or contact the third party directly to see how your personal information will be handled on their website.


3. How We Use Your Information


We use the information we collect for business and commercial purposes in accordance with the practices described in this Privacy Policy. The personal information you provide to us will allow us to communicate with you and provide the Service to you, depending on the aspects of the Service you utilise. We primarily use the personal information you provide and any general information we receive from you for the following business purposes:


- To create and manage your account;

- To process your orders, requests or applications submitted through the Service;

- For billing purposes;

- To facilitate communications between you and other users on the Service (e.g., to allow you to communicate with credit providers or financial institutions);

- To verify your identity;

- To send you technical notices, updates, security alerts, information regarding changes to our policies, and support and administrative messages;

- To prevent and address fraud and threats of harm;

- To personalise your customer experience, including to help prepare your application or calculate your credit score and determine the probability you will be accepted or denied if you submit an application;

- To provide customer service;

- To monitor, analyse trends, usage, and activities;

- To improve our services, the interactions you have with our Service, and other CreditScore websites, apps, marketing, products, and services;

- To market products and services that may be of interest to you—for instance, we may add you to our email list and newsletter, auto-create email marketing campaigns on behalf of our clients, suggest listings to you, or suggest next steps based on your use of the Service;

- To provide credit providers, financial institutions and other users of our service with the ability to offer you other products and services that may be of interest to you;

- To comply with and enforce applicable legal requirements, relevant industry standards, and our policies;

- To fulfil any other purpose at your direction;

  • To calculate your individual tenant score; and

  • With notice to you and your consent.

  • To provide you with the Services, specifically your Credit ID (which is your digital credit identity, which you can share with others) based on the information you provide to us.


We keep track of your interactions with us, including but not limited to your activity within the Service. Except as set forth in this Privacy Policy, or unless we have your consent, we will not share your personal information with any person or entity other than those affiliated with us, entities acting on our behalf, and our service providers (such as those needed to collect and maintain our servers and perform technology and related services).

In our Terms of Use, we prohibit the use of any information collected through the Service in violation of Irish law and any other applicable laws.

We may use information that we have collected in a manner such that the end-product does not personally identify you or any other user of the Service (including information that has been de-identified or aggregated). We aggregate or de-identify information by either combining it with information about other users (aggregating your information with information about other users), or by removing characteristics (such as your name or email address) that make the information personally identifiable. We may use aggregated or de-identified information for any purpose except as prohibited by applicable law.


4. WHERE WE STORE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION


The personal data that we collect from you (including email addresses that form part of our prospective marketing database) is processed in the European Economic Area (“EEA”) and stored on Amazon Web Services (Europe) Cloud Servers This data may however be processed by staff operating outside of the EEA who work for us or for one of our business partners or service providers. A full list of our third party sub-processors and details of their privacy policies can be requested. Countries outside the EEA may not provide the same level of adequate protection for the rights and freedoms of data subjects in relation to the processing of personal data. In countries which do not provide appropriate safeguards, we shall transfer your data subject only to your consent except for transfers to and from: (i) any country with a valid adequacy decision from the European Commission; or (ii) any organisation which ensures an adequate level of protection in accordance with applicable data protection laws.


Your passwords are stored on CreditScore servers in encrypted form. We do not disclose your account details. It is your responsibility to keep your password secure. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although CreditScore will do its best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our Website, any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent any unauthorised access.




5. DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION


We may also disclose your personal information to third parties in the following circumstances:


We may disclose your personal information to our service providers and business partners, including payments processors and database providers (to assist us in performing any contract we enter into with them or you, including providing the Website and the Services it enables), analytics providers, (to assist us in the improvement and optimisation of the Website) and/or a member of our group, which means our subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries.

We share your personal information with third party payment processor Stripe which manages payment of rent. Further information in relation to Stripe can be found in our terms of service.

As part of our Services, we offer users with regulated account information services provided by Tink AB, a Swedish limited company with its registered office in Stockholm, Sweden. Tink is supervised by the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority. Tink provides us with a portal through which Tenants can authorise Tink to share their information with us. Once we receive such information, we shall process such personal data in accordance with this privacy policy. We are not responsible for, and take no liability for, the acts and omissions of Tink. Tink's privacy policy shall apply to their processing https://legal.tink.com


How We Share Your Information


Sharing Your Information


We use your information to provide the Service to you; deliver products and services you request; complete transactions; handle your customer service questions or issues; and send communications to you about notifications, promotions, updates, or special offers from CreditScore that may be of interest to you. The personal information uploaded by you through the Service, or collected about your through the Service, will be shared only as set out in this Privacy Policy and with authorized persons, including landlords, landlord representatives, brokers, property managers or sub-lessors, and when necessary employees of CreditScore. As indicated below, we also share with such third parties in order to facilitate their ability to offer you other products and services that may be of interest to you. We will also share the information we collect from you under the following circumstances, and you expressly authorise us to share your information as follows:


Provision of CreditScore Services. CreditScore uses the personal information you provide, as well as information gathered through background and credit checks, to fulfill the services you request from us. This may include sharing your personal information with our affiliates, vendors, and any credit providers or their representatives that you wish to engage with. The information shared with these parties may include your CreditScore-calculated credit score. CreditScore will not disclose or share your personal information with any other third parties, unless specifically stated in this Privacy Policy. Please note that CreditScore cannot be held responsible for any misuse of your personal information by third parties who receive it in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy.


Credit Providers and Their Representatives and other Third Parties to Offer and Provide Other Products and Services to You. CreditScore may share your information, including personal information, with credit providers and financial institutions and other third parties in order to offer and provide additional products and services that may be of interest to you.


Protection of rights. We may disclose personal information if we believe it is necessary to comply with a legal requirement or to protect the safety, rights, or property of CreditScore, its employees, users of the Service, or others. This may include sharing information with legal or governmental authorities, or to enforce our Terms of Use for the Service. We may also disclose personal information in order to detect and prevent fraud or technical issues associated with the Service.


Service Providers. In order to provide our services, we may share your information with trusted third-party service providers. This may include, for example, obtaining a criminal background check or eviction report. We may also engage service providers to process information on our behalf, including payment processors. These service providers may include our affiliates that provide services to us.


Vendors and Other Parties. We may work with vendors and other third parties in order to advertise our products and services and to process, analyse, and/or store data, including information collected automatically. These companies may have access to your personal information while providing services on our behalf. We take steps to ensure that these companies protect your privacy and handle your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and appropriate confidentiality and security measures.


Affiliates. We may share information with our affiliates and related entities for a variety of reasons, such as when they are working as service providers for us or for their own internal needs.


Asset transfers. In the event that CreditScore is involved in a merger, acquisition, or other transaction that involves the sale of some or all of our assets, user information, including personal information collected through the use of our Service, may be transferred as part of the assets. We will make every effort to notify you of such a change through email or by posting a prominent notice on our website.


Partners. We may share information with selected partners in order to offer co-branded services, sell or distribute our products, or participate in joint marketing initiatives.


Facilitating Requests. We share information at your request or direction.


Consent. We share information with notice to you and your consent.


However, we may share information that does not personally identify you (such as aggregated or de-identified data) unless prohibited by law. Additional Information You Should Know About Third Parties


The Service may contain direct links to websites operated by our partners and other entities. These third-party websites may collect information about you when you visit them or otherwise communicate with them. This Privacy Policy does not cover the information practices of third-party websites linked to the Site or accessible through the Service. Although we encourage such third parties to adopt and follow their own privacy policies, we are not responsible for their collection and use of your personal information.


We may also offer our content through social media websites. Any information you provide to us when you engage with our content (such as through our brand page on Facebook) is treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy.


You should refer to the privacy policies and statements of other websites or contact the respective webmasters of those websites to obtain information regarding their information collection, use and disclosure policies.



6. HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR PERSONAL DATA


We will hold the above information for as long as is necessary in order to provide you with the Services, deal with any specific issues that may raise, or otherwise as is required by law or any relevant regulatory body. Once your account is terminated or deactivated, we shall delete the personal data relating to your account within 72 hrs. If your account is inactive for 2 years, we may contact you to assess whether you want to continue to use the Services. Some personal data may need to be retained for longer than this to ensure that CreditScore can comply with applicable laws and internal compliance procedures, including retaining your email address for marketing communication suppression if you have opted not to receive any further marketing.


If information is used for two purposes, we will retain it until the purpose with the latest period expires but we will stop using it for the purpose with a shorter period when that period expires.


We restrict access to your personal information to those persons who need to use it for the relevant purpose(s). Our retention periods are based on business needs and your information that is no longer needed is either irreversibly anonymised (and the anonymised information may be retained) or securely destroyed.


7. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES REGARDING YOUR INFORMATION


Under the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2017/676, you have various rights in relation to your personal data. All of these rights can be exercised by contacting us at support@creditscore.ie


You have the following rights in relation to your personal data:


Right to Rectification:


We will use reasonable endeavours to ensure that your personal information is accurate. In order to assist us with this, you should notify us of any changes to the personal information that you have provided to us by sending us a request to rectify your personal data where you believe the personal data we have is inaccurate or incomplete.


Right to erasure / ‘Right to be forgotten’:


Asking us to delete all of your personal data will result in CreditScore deleting your personal data without undue delay (unless there is a legitimate and legal reason why CreditScore is unable to delete certain of your personal data, in which case we will inform you of this in writing).


Right to restriction of processing:


You have the right to ask us to stop processing your personal data at any time.


Right to data portability:


You have the right to request that CreditScore provides you with a copy of all of your personal data and to transmit your personal data to another data controller in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, where it is technically feasible for us to do so.


Right to complain:


You have the right to lodge a complaint to a supervisory authority such as the Data Protection Commission (see www.dataprotection.ie). Although we encourage our customers to engage with us in the event they have any concerns or complaints.


Right to object to discussions based solely on automated processing:


You have the right to not be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing which produces legal effects concerning your or similarly significant effects and to obtain human intervention, to express your point of view or contest the decision.


CreditScore will not ordinarily charge you in respect of any requests we receive to exercise any of your rights detailed above; however, if you make excessive, repetitive or manifestly unfounded requests, we may charge you an administration fee in order to process such requests or refuse to act on such requests. Where we are required to provide a copy of the personal data undergoing processing this will be free of charge; however, any further copies requested may be subject to reasonable fees based on administrative costs.


Asking us to stop processing your personal data or deleting your personal data will likely mean that you are no longer able to use CreditScore Services, or at least those aspects of the Services which require the processing of the types of personal data you have asked us to delete, which may result in you no longer being able to use the Services.


Where you request CreditScore to rectify or erase your personal data or restrict any processing of such personal data, CreditScore may notify third parties to whom such personal data has been disclosed of such request. However, such third party may have the right to retain and continue to process such personal data in its own right, for example payment processing or insurance companies.


8. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY


Any changes we make to our privacy policy in the future will be posted on this page, and where appropriate, notified to you by email or notifications via the App. We therefore encourage you to review it from time to time to stay informed of how we are processing your information.
